Ishmael Randall Weeks | Simone Shubuck | Michael Wetzel

Eleven Rivington is pleased to present a group works-on-paper exhibition by seven artists from NY, FL, Paris, Berlin, and Lima.  Titled Pulp Ficiton, the exhibition is on view from January 4 – February 8, 2009.

Pulp Fiction will include new abstract paintings on paper by Elizabeth Neel, recent genre-based gouaches by Michael Wetzel, and narrative watercolors by Philippe Perrot.  Phillip Estlund and Halsey Hathaway will be represented by cut newspaper and magazine collages while Simone Shubuck will exhibit a desk drawing installation.  Volker Hüller’s suite of works is comprised of unique etchings that have been individually painted with shellac, paint, and varnish; and Ishmael Randall Weeks layers watercolor, tissue and paper cutouts.  Pulp Fiction presents a selection of recent drawings, gouaches, prints and collages, highlighting the intimacy of works on paper while conveying each artist’s personal vision.  These works imagine new worlds while also reflecting on the ways we live now.
